Full disclosure, I've been following the developers progress, and I like the guy - so I was pre-hyped for this game. That said, I also paid full price because it looks like a really fun LAN style game.I honestly love the cartoon look and feel of the game - it feels just like an old SNES FPS game. The controls feel nice and I had no issues killing stuff. The tutorial was cute, I loved the SNES style old blue-and-white text dialogs. What can I say, I was pumped and it actually exceeds my expectations :) A lot of incomplete stuff floats around these days... this isn't one of those. It is well done.. A fun arena FPS game that recaptures not just the feeling of playing N64 shooters like GoldenEye, but the feeling of tweaking the settings and playing in very specific game modes, in this case with the "explosives only" weapon set. The game's only weapons are different types of throwable explosives. On top of that, there are plenty of game mode variations like fast motion and invisibility. The game has a colorful, low-poly/sprite-texture aesthetic that looks great. I haven't gotten the chance to play a multiplayer game yet, but the single player campaign has plenty of fun to offer. It's styled after Mario 64, with a hub-world full of doors that you unlock with collectables. You get more collectibles by returning to levels to play with different variations and win conditions. The levels themselves are varied and creative, and keep the game interesting with things like destructable floors and underground passages.Definitely worth checking out if you miss the days of N64 party games.. A fun, local multiplayer game where you bomb your pals to oblivion. Also includes a single-player mode that evokes N64 classics!. Nice throwback to the simpler days of split-screen FPS games. It's kind of like if Goldeneye 64 and Super Mario 64 had a baby. You'd think that only having grenades would be boring, but it's really not. There are some variations to try out, but nothing too crazy. The fast pace and challenge are what make it fun. It's also a plus that you can go head-to-head with 4 players local, or you can co-op the campaign mode together and unlock dozens of levels. The only thing lacking here is online play. Overall, it's a fun budget game to play locally with friends. Check out my gameplay if you're interested.. 3..2..1..Grenades is definitely a good first showing from Banyango. It feels like a weird mix of Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye with the colour palette and jagged lines of Megaman Legends. It's a little rough around the edges \/ lacking polish in some places, but the music is catchy, and there is a good variety in the multiplayer. The boss fight(s) feel fun, and the main mechanic is kept fresh with different power-ups, match mutators, maps, and game types. If you're looking for a one-off party game for a party and you have a few extra xbox controllers, this is a decent choice.. 3..2..1..Grenades is definitely a good first showing from Banyango.
